Hit-and-run crash involving scooter in Baltimore leaves 1 dead

A teenage boy has died after a pedestrian hit-and-run crash involving a moped Wednesday night in Baltimore.

According to Baltimore City police, two teenage boys using a scooter in the 1200 block of McCulloh Street were in a collision with a Jeep Compass. The driver of the Jeep fled the location on foot before police arrived, while a passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A 17 and 16-year-old were taken to a hospital where the 16-year-old was pronounced dead. The 17-year-old is listed in stable condition.

The victim has not been identified and the accident investigation unit has assumed control of this case and is asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2606.
